HTC Global Services, a provider of IT and IT-enabled services, plans to add an additional 7,000-8,000 employees to its workforce here in the country over the next few years.

The U.S-based company, which has delivery centres in Hyderabad and Chennai and a global workforce of over 6,500 employees, is furiously expanding on the back of its deal pipeline and revamped sales force.

According to CEO Madhava Reddy, the firm recently hired Shami Korana, who was the President of Americas for HCL Technologies, as Executive Vice-President for corporate strategy and marketing.

“In order to expand and provide our unique value-add services to clients, we are investing in a highly talented workforce and state-of-the- art infrastructure. Our new facility in Chennai [Vandalur], which has come up with an investment of Rs. 100 crore, will be our fourth delivery centre in India,” Mr. Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday.

“The new facility, which will be operational by next month, can seat around 4,500 employees. We will move some of our existing employees as well as hire new employees in order to fill it up,” he added, while refusing to divulge any figures on the company’s revenue.

The HTC Global Services chief also pointed that the company would start pursuing a serious acquisition strategy for aggressive growth.

“We are in talks with three companies… one large firm and two small companies,” Mr. Reddy said. When asked, Mr. Reddy refused to comment on the name of the companies.
