Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

India is home to a variety of healing practices. Earlier, MBBS was considered as the only means to cure diseases, disorders etc, but with the advent of parallel medical science like 'Homeopathy' and 'Ayurveda', these courses gained a great impetus. The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a five and a half year course, which includes internship.

Further studies:
After the completion of the BHMS course, the candidate can pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery.

Future prospects:
After the completion of the BHMS course, an individual can pursue a career in the following fields:

  • Can work as a private practitioner.
  • Opportunity to work as faculty in Medical Institutes.
Eligibility for the course:
The eligibility for the course is plus two or equivalent level examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Entrance Tests:
Admission to the BHMS is based on merit. In some states there is a joint entrance exam for BHMS along with the MBBS and BDS tests.
