Bollywood actress and former beauty queen Dia Mirza got engaged to beau Sahil Sangha on October 17th. The couple opted for a close knit ceremony at Chattarpur farm in Delhi. Dia Mirza looked ravishing in a blue and golden coloured Anita Dongre lehenga. She paired it up with matching jewellery. Sahil too rocked the look with a bandhgala coat.

 

The engagement ceremony was attended by family members and a few close friends. The couple will tie the knot on October 18th. Earlier this year, Dia took to twitter to announce her engagement to the world. “Officially engaged. #NYC,” she posted on the microblogging site. (sic) The couple had to postpone their wedding twice, once in November last year and once in January, 2014.

Dia Mirza looked radiant and happy as she showed her mehendi to the camera. Dia and Sahil together own a production house named Born Free Entertainment and their first film under the banner was ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’. The latest film to be produced by their banner was the Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bobby Jasoos’. Dia Mirza has given some unforgettable performances in films like – Dum, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein etc, Parineeta etc. The actress is also known for her contributions to environmental and social issues.

 

Dia Mirza’s mehendi ceremony was organised on October 16th. The former beauty queen opted for a Ritu Kumar outfit for the function. Dia looked gorgeous in a marigold yellow chanderi multi-panelled kurta, while Sahil opted for a red coloured kurta and white pyjamas for the event. Dia also posted a picture from the ceremony on microblogging site twitter and wrote, “With my happiness :) thank you to all those who have conveyed such warm messages here. Sahil and I are grateful.” (sic)

The mehendi ceremony was also organised in Delhi. Talking about Dia Mirza’s outfit, Ritu Kumar said, “The kurta has a vintage cut used in the courts of Agra around the 15th century. The neck is deep and worked in embroidered gota patti on net like the technique used at the time. The gold metallic taar used is of silver worked in gold thread and dori to give it a stylised plant inlay look. Each panel is highlighted with a flowering buta. The odhni is fuschia worked with small butis of the same beaten gold gota patti, a fuschia brocade deep sinjaf finishes the edges of the outfit.” (sic)
