London – The Syrian government has ruled out negotiating transfer of power during the Geneva peace conference due in January, but confirmed that it will attend the peace talks

According to the BBC, the Syrian delegation will receive directions from President Bashar al-Assad, who dismissed the opposition’s demand of playing no role in the transitional period.

More than 100,000 people have died and almost nine million others have gone homeless in the two-and-a-half-year long protests against Assad

Meanwhile, the Syrian foreign ministry said that they would pursue the Syrian people’s demands of eliminating terrorism from the country.
