Washington – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly expressed his pessimism about the nation’s nuclear talks with world powers.

Khamenei said that he supports Iran’s nuclear negotiations but he is not so ‘optimistic’ about the talks.

According to CNN, while addressing university students, Khamenei said that he was not optimistic about the talks but they shall not lose anything in these talks either.

He further said that this experience will enhance Iran’s mental capacity and if the talks succeed, so much the better and in case they don’t, that should mean that the country is standing on its own feet.

The report said that the nuclear talks resumed last month between Iran and six world powers, the US, Russia, China, France, Germany and Britain, known as the P5+1.

Iran has long maintained that it is developing nuclear energy capabilities for peaceful purposes only, however, the US and U.N . have imposed sanctions because of the threat the nation’s nuke capabilities carry, the report added.
