Islamabad – Pakistan and Iran have agreed to fast track the IP gas pipeline project starting this December in a bid to formulate a more realistic time schedule for its implementation.

The Inter-State Gas System Ltd. of Pakistan and the Iranian nominated company Tadbir Energy Gaspar Iranian Co. will be discussing comprehensive technical commercial proposals on the IP gas pipeline project in the first week of December, Dawn News reports.

Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement after a meeting between Pakistan Prime Minister’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and his Iranian counterpart
Muhammad Javad concluded in Tehran.

Both the nations laid emphasis on the need to put greater focus on their bilateral economic relations, the report added.
