US President Barack Obama along with Xi Jinping, the President of China agreed on Monday to strengthen cooperation to fight against terrorism and transnational crime. A meeting was held on the sidelines of a two-day nuclear security summit, where the two presidents met.

China’s President Xi Jinping said that he appreciated the fact that Obama condemned terrorism of all forms. The Chinese president added that China will extend a hand of cooperation with all the countries including the US in the fight against terrorism.

The Chinese president has also called for enhanced China-US law enforcement cooperation in sensitive matters like hunting down the fugitives and fighting against transnational criminal groups and activities.

On the other hand, US President Obama reiterated the fact he condemns all forms of terrorist attack. He also mentioned about the recent terrorist attack that occurred on the railway station of the Kunming, a city in the south western province of China. A group of knife-wielding assailants indiscriminately attacked civilians at a railway station in Kunming, killing 29 people and injuring another 143.

The US president said that the US would oppose terrorist activities in whichever part of the world they take place.

From the meeting, it looks like the US and Chinese presidents are all set to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation with one another.

The Chinese president landed in the Netherlands on Saturday for a state visit and to attend the third Nuclear Security Summit. He is also set to visit France, Germany and Belgium after this.
