3 summer dresses you must try
This season’s getting hot, hot hot. With casual summer dressing becoming the mainstay, it’s time you revved things up a bit, with some above-the-knee fun.
From asymmetrical hemlines, to lacy sheer, bird and ditsy prints, floral peonies and plains, going short is in and how! Here’s our pick of the ‘short’ looks that you must try:
The kurti dress
This is one of the hottest trends of late, with the modified kurti dress seen on the ramp as well as being worn to ‘spa’rties and other dos. Go for one in white chikan, or cool shades of blue and pink.
Wear lots of chunky bangles and long beads with it for that sassy, boho chic look.
The candy stripe dress
We also love this one! It’s flirty and shouts out ‘refreshing and fun’. Try a halter or V-neckline with spaghetti straps or horizontals going helter-skelter in colours like pastels with white, or then neon pink, powder blue, bright yellow and tangerine.
Actress Jessica Alba wore hers with a straw hat and scarf. We suggest a few metallic bangles and pop colour clutch with nude sandals.
Lacy and hot
What’s summer without some sheer? And delicate lace in a fitted silhouette or flare, is apt. It’s the trend du jour for tops and skirts and a lace dress can even make the transition from day to evening. Go for a lace dress in canary yellow, beige or white.
Try vibrant shoes — metallic heels, colourblock clutches or a snake print, to enhance the look.
