Erase your ex from your virtual world
When a relationship ends, all you are left with is memories and gifts you shared when the going was good. However, while it’s easy to get rid of a box of snaps, CDs, t-shirts or teddy bears, it’s harder to erase an exes virtual presence in your life. So, how do you move on?
Spring cleaning in cyberspace
Just like you empty your closet to make room for a new wardrobe, you have to spring clean your virtual space to make a new beginning.
Don’t phone this friend
You have a choice of either deleting your ex from your phone’s contact list, or saving his name under a do not call list. Delete any ‘I love you’ or ‘Miss you’ missives and voicemails with love notes, as they will only act as a constant reminder of a failed relationship.
Don’t network with your past
Hide/delete pictures of you and your ex together. You don’t require digital memories that will only hurt you, since you are making a fresh start.
You have not no ex mail
If you have been together for a while, chances are you will have a lot of chats and emails buried in your inbox. Instead of deleting them one at a time. Use a search string, type his/ her name in the search field and it will throw up all the mails/chats at one go. Hit the delete
button, and then block your ex and delete his/her email id from your email contacts.
Don’t dance to your tunes
If you have signed up for any music services together, log on and delete the songs and tracks that remind you of the time you spent with your ex.
Last but not the least, if you have changed your relationship status from single to in a relationship, it’s time to change it back to the former. Tweak your dating profile and get ready to move on.
