Tips to keep your business staffed during holidays revealed
Washington – As the festive season begins, workers tend to plan their vacations while employers try to keep their business adequately staffed without facing employee resentment.
Therefore, mashable has come up with some tips that can help employers keep their business staffed during the holidays.
David A. Weiman, a management psychologist with Weiman Consulting in Wynnewood, Pa has suggested that employers should put their vacation policy in writing, as it can help avoid confusion.
Weiman advised to have staffers submit their vacation dates for the entire year during the first quarter. This will help you figure out if there are conflicts such as periods when too many members of the same department will be missing.
The expert said that offering incentives for working through the holidays can be a good idea and the employees might surprise you with extra effort.
Meanwhile, Tom Gimbel, president and chief executive officer of LaSalle Network, a Chicago-based staffing firm, said that it’s inevitable that staff will ask to take the same days off, and since a employer cant ask its workers not to take those days off, it’s important to start planning ahead.
