BJP candidate Mohit Kamboj is the richest candidate in fray for the Maharashtra assembly polls with assets worth Rs 353.53 crore.

According to the affidavit filed by him to the Maharashtra State Election Commission, Kamboj, 30, who is contesting from Dindoshi constituency, has declared assets worth Rs353.53 crore. His affidavit states that he cleared his first-year of BCom in 2003 and he has business interests in real estate and bullion.

The second-richest candidate in the state is BJP’s Mangal Prabhat Lodha, 58, who is seeking a re-election from the plush Malabar Hill constituency. He has declared property worth Rs198.61 crore, including that of his wife’s. A law graduate, Lodha is a construction magnate.

BJP state unit president Devendra Fadnavis has declared assets worth Rs1.97 crore to the election commission. Samajwadi Party’s state unit president Abu Azmi, who is contesting from Mankhurd-Shivajinagar constituency, has declared assets worth Rs156.11 crore. Azmi who owns an employment agency, was the richest candidate in 2009 assembly elections with the assets worth Rs128 crore.

Kidappil Narayanan Keshav of Communist Party of India (M), who will contest from the Andheri (West) constituency, has declared assets worth Rs15,934. A social worker by profession, he has studied till class 12 from Kerala.
