Kanpur – National spokesperson and member of political affairs committee of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sanjay Singh said that days are over for political parties which are in habit of luring voters and fight elections on the basis of religion, caste and community.

After Delhi, AAP is ready to defeat such parties from the country in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The first list of AAP candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be out by February 15. As far as selection of candidates, the process which was followed during Delhi polls will be followed in Lok Sabha elections also, he said.

He said the party will contest elections on all 80 seats from UP and anyone can apply to be a candidate by simply filling an application form.

“In the next few days, the party will hold meetings in every district to finalise the name of Lok Sabha candidates. Candidates facing criminal and corruption charges will not be given tickets,” Singh added.

He said once all nomination forms were received from the constituencies, they would be scrutinised by the parliamentary affairs committee and the suitable candidate would be fielded.

He further said that after AAP victory in Delhi there is excitement across the nation about the party’s prospects and a large number of people want to join it.

Talking to newspersons during the inauguration of party’s membership campaign at Gandhi statue in Phoolbagh, Singh appeared vocal against UPA, BJP, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party and said days of these parties are now over. He criticised SP and Congress and said that both these parties are functioning like a private limited company. Singh lashed out at SP government for the deteriorating law and order situation across the state and how SP workers are unleashing a reign of terror. He said that a membership campaign would be launched in the state ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

Singh said that AAP will fight against inflation and corruption.
