A local court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on the bail plea moved by the counsel of godman Asaram Bapu’s missing son Narayan Sai and posted the matter for October 17.

Sai, who is still absconding, has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the court in connection with the complaint of sexual assault against him.

The Gujarat police are still clueless about Sai’s whereabouts and have issued a look-out notice for him.

Surat Police recently registered two cases – one against Asaram and another against his son – of rape, sexual assault, illegal confinement and other offences upon the complaint filed by two sisters.

While the elder sister has accused Asaram of repeated sexual assault when she was living at his Ahmedabad ashram during 1997 to 2006, the younger sister has accused Narayan Sai of same offence when she was living at Asaram’s ashram here between 2002 and 2005.

72-year-old Asaram and his son have already moved the Gujarat High Court to get the complaints quashed.

Asaram was arrested in August on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl at Jodhpur, and has been in prison there since then.

Self-styled godman Asaram Bapuis due to be produced before a special judge in Gandhinagar today in connection with the sexual assault case against him.

The controversial godman was yesterday taken to Ahmedabad via Mumbai for interrogation in connection with sexual assault case lodged by two Surat-based sisters against him and his son.

72-year-old Asaram was grilled by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) about the allegations of rape, sexual assault and illegal confinement between 2001-2006.

The Gujarat police is expected to seek Asaram on remand when he is produced before the special judge today.
