New Delhi - Tracking a firming global trend, gold prices rose by Rs. 141 to Rs. 25,814 per 10 grams in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October month rose by Rs. 141, or 0.55 per cent to Rs. 25,814 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 6931 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December contract moved up by Rs. 136, or 0.52 per cent to Rs. 26,091 per 10 grams in 2,406 lots.
Market analysts said besides fresh buying by speculators to meet the ongoing ‘Navratra’ festival demand amid a firm trend in Asian region mainly pushed up gold prices in the futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold gained 0.8 per cent to $ 1,621.15 an ounce in Singapore.
