Tibet wetlands boost tourism potential

Beijing - Plenty of wetlands in China's Tibet region have raised its tourism potential. It is home to 6.5 million hectares of wetland, Global Times reported Friday.

Tibet has built several Wetland Nature Reserves of national and international importance that play a critical role in protecting the region's rich bio-diversity.

The local government is planning to start several activities to raise public awareness on wetland protection.
