London - Ten Network Holdings has chosen Lachlan Murdoch as its new chairman. He takes over from Brian Long, who will now be the deputy chairman.
Lachlan is the son of Rupert Murdoch, the chief executive of the News Corporation.
Murdoch held the position of interim CEO for the network last year, and helped employ new chief executive James Warburton.
After becoming the new chairman, Murdoch said he was looking forward to working with the board and improve performance with its help.
"I look forward to working with the board and our new CEO to reshape Ten and improve its performance for the benefit of all shareholders," The Herald Sun quoted Murdoch, as saying.
Long said the board was pleased to welcome Murdoch to the new non-executive role.
"His extensive media experience will provide Ten with invaluable strategic leadership," said Long.
