New Delhi - The petroleum ministry Friday invited suggestions from stakeholders by April 24 for finalising the eligibility criteria for setting up and operating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals.
According to Section 15(1) of Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, every entity wanting to market any notified petroleum or petroleum products or natural gas or establish and operate a liquefied natural gas terminal shall make an application to the board for its registration under this act.
Further, Section 60(2)(e) of the Act provides for the central government to notify rules relating to the eligibility conditions which an entity shall fulfil for registration under Section 15(1).
It is, therefore, proposed to hold consultations to finalize the eligibility conditions for registration as LNG infrastructure by specifying minimum capacity, open access commitment, physical specifications etc, the ministry said in statement, asking stakeholders are to respond by April 24.
