Washington - The long-awaited downsized clone of Apple's iPad tablet is set to hit US stores on November 2, according to a report.
While the tech giant hasn't released details about its new product, it's widely expected to unveil the 7-inch tablet under the name of 'iPad Mini' in an event in San Jose.
The mini's debut, though, could sound a death knell for the iPad 2, with Apple likely to want to streamline its product offerings, the New York Daily News reports.
According to the report, Apple has hinted in invitations for the launch of the new iPad saying that it has "a little more to show you."
The company is expected to have sold about 18 million iPads on average for the quarter that ended last month, a survey by Fortune of 61 Wall Street and independent analysts has showed.
