Melbourne - Lara Bingle stumbled into a new photo controversy, after she tweeted a picture of two impoverished children smoking cigarettes with the caption: “Poverty-stricken but still cool as f#*k.â€
The tweet was quickly removed from her page after a backlash from her Twitter followers, News.com.au reported.
One wrote: “OH DEAR. Please read the comments.â€
Those comments soon disappeared after the photograph.
It is believed that the former fiance of Australian cricketer Michael Clarke posted the picture from New Zealand, where she is filming her reality show.
Her new management at Tailor Made Communications released a statement on her behalf.
“In essence Lara felt the imagery was beautiful but after reflection and understanding of people’s feedback and comments, Lara decided to pull the image down,†the statement read.
The model’s reality show ‘Being Lara Bingle’ is in ratings free-fall, dropping almost 100,000 viewers this week, but it’s understood the network is confident of regaining some viewers in later episodes, especially ones with the model visiting Los Angeles.
