London - Fast bowler Tim Bresnan has said the current England team is more ruthless in its approach nowadays and is finishing games very well.
England has already clinched the five-match one day series against their old foes Australia 3-0, and now has a chance to whitewash the series by winning the last one-day in Old Trafford. "I definitely think we're being a bit more ruthless. Our finishing with the bat and the ball has been exceptional over the last three one-dayers," Bresnan wrote in his column for the Daily Mirror.
"We've knocked off two decent targets that could have got away from us if we had lost a load of early wickets. The Cook and Bell partnership up top has come together very strongly, and Belly looks like he's in the form of his life, which is laying a platform for us," he added.
"Below them Trotty and Ravi are doing their jobs and knocking off the runs in good time which shows we are developing that ruthless streak, and the bowling has been spot on in my opinion," he further wrote.
Bresnan further said England's home form has been key to their improved rankings in all formats of the game.
"We have become very strong at home and like any decent Premiership team, they say make your home your fortress. And that is what we're trying to do in all formats," Bresnan said.
"It is great to go away and succeed and that is always a challenge. But if you want to establish yourselves and improve your rankings then you have got to look after your home form first," he added.
