Patna - Three students of Motihari Engineering College in Bihar, including a girl, have been expelled on charges of ragging a junior student, officials said Wednesday.

The three students, including a girl, allegedly ragged a junior student Monica Shailesh on October 15. Monica, a first year student, had alleged that she was subjected to ragging by some seniors when she was standing at the college counter for registration.

After she filed a complaint, the college disciplinary action committee inquired into it and found that the three were responsible for the incident.

"Strict action was taken against the students on the instruction of Science and Technology Department," an official said.

Motihari Engineering College is one of the six government-run engineering colleges in Bihar.
