Gwyneth Paltrow needs detox when she’s ‘exhausted’ and ‘cranky’

Washington -  Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she heads for a detox when she wakes up “exhausted” and ends the day feeling “cranky”.

The 39-year-old star is known for her healthy eating, but she also confesses to indulging and eating whatever she desires as she juggles her work with her responsibilities as a  mother-of-two.

However, the actress readies herself to undergo a 12-week detox programme whenever she starts to feel sluggish.

“I’ll wake up exhausted; I can feel my adrenal cortex being really high. When I get into bed, my heart will pound, my skin won’t be good, I’ll feel cranky, and then I’ll just know it’s time,”

Contactmusic quoted her as telling Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Paltrow started off 2012 by embarking on a big cleanse and she will remain on the diet programme until the end of March.

“I have a lot of inflammation in my system, so I’m not having anything I’m allergic to - no gluten, no dairy, no sugar,” she added.
