London - Just like George Clooney will want to look his best for Sunday’s Oscar awards ceremony, Madame Tussauds is making sure his wax figure also looks good.
The 50-year-old actor has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in ‘The Descendants’ and hopes to add the statuette to his Best Supporting Actor Oscar for ‘Syriana’.
It could be third time lucky for Clooney who was previously nominated for the best actor prize for roles in ‘Michael Clayton’ and ‘Up in the Air’.
Clooney’s waxwork double at the London attraction will be swapping its usual dark suit for a black and white Hawaiian shirt in homage to his Honolulu-based character Matt King.
Hair stylist Gemma Sim and colourist Gemma Fee also gave the figure a makeover to bring it up to date.
Clooney’s figure first appeared in 2004 when his hair was much darker, so it has been updated to reflect his current “silver fox” look.
“George is one of the world's most successful actors and we wish him well at the Academy Awards,” the Telegraph quoted Liz Edwards, of Madame Tussauds as saying.
“With the ceremony taking place this weekend we wanted to make sure that he is looking his best and are confident our guests are going to love this silver fox makeover.
“He’s guaranteed plenty of attention regardless, whether he is named leading actor or not, as he is one of our most popular personalities,” she added.
