Mumbai - The grand finale of one of India's finest designers Rohit Bal at the Lakme Fashion Week was a memorable one. The designer did not want to compromise on the location of his show, and unlike other shows the grand finale was held in the lawns of the Grand Hyatt.
With a live orchestra playing, the models walking the ramp in his mesmerizing designs. The crowd at the end of the show gave a standing ovation for Bal's creativity.
"One thing which I am really happy about is I didn't let anyone down. When you get a standing ovation from the audience I don't think there could be anything better. This grand finale is a memorable one," Bal told IANS.
The way towards the lawn was decorated with flowers and candles while the lawn itself was decorated with lights all over, giving a majestic feel.
"I know it was a huge expense but I don't think that matters. I think any creative person would do what he or she feels like. It was about letting me do whatever I feel like," Bal said.
His line was a blend of Indo-western outfits with classic cuts and intricate designs. The models wore elegant fabrics, colours and silhouettes teaming them with minimal accessories.
Bal's close friend Arjun Rampal, who was sitting in the front row to cheer the designer, said: "This was Rohit Bal's best collection ever and also the best grand finale."
Meher Rampal, Suzzane Roshan, Siddharth Mallya and Rahul Dev were among the others who graced the event.
