London - Kelly Brook has designed her very first clothing line, especially for the more curvaceous women, who struggle to find clothes they love in the size zero-obsessed world of fashion.
The 32-year-old star revealed that her motivation behind the designing of each piece came from wanting see girls with curves ‘celebrated and dressing well’.
She has collaborated with ‘New Look’, which will showcase her clothing line.
“There is so much focus on size zero models that I wanted to design a collection for real women with real budgets and a sense of style,†the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the MailOnline today.
The dresses from this new clothing range are ultra-feminine, with cinched waists, halter neck bra tops and full skirts that are somewhat similar to Dior’s own New Look shape of the 1950s - a decade that Brook claims is her favorite style era.
Brook revealed that she looked to vintage photographs taken on the French Riviera for creative inspiration,
“I love St Tropez so I looked at pictures of Brigette Bardot bare foot on the beach in a cute dress and shopping at the markets in wedges and capri pants,†she said.
Moreover the star also took inspiration from her wardrobe, which is chock-full of retro styles
But this is not her design debut as she created and modelled her first lingerie collection for the store in 2006, but this is the model’s first full women’s wear range .
Besides the clothes the clothing range will also feature shoes and handbag.
The footwears will be high platform peep-toes and strappy wedges in raffia and suede to continue the retro vibe while handbags with both rendered in florals and polka dots will be featured.
Bags are delicate but are structured with oversized clutches, chain handles and material paneling.
Brook has worked hard to create a collection that ‘exudes femininity and playfulness,’ said the ‘New Look’ about the collaboration.
“The styles flatter the female silhouette, and help enhance waists, and sculpt curves in all the right places. This collection is made for women who want to embrace their femininity and radiate confidence,†they said.
“They are classic shapes that have been re-worked to ensure that they not only look great but they feel great to wear too,†they said.
To model the line, Brook posed in a set of British-themed photos to showcase the collection.
Brook claimed that her line for New Look is ‘sexy, fun and summery’.
