Rashida Jones publicly urges John Travolta to come out of the closet

London -  Actress Rashida Jones has requested controversial actor John Travolta to ‘admit that he is a gay after persistent rumours about his sexual orientation.

The daughter of music producer Quincy Jones, Rashida believes that a movie star needs to out themselves for things to move on.

She made the shock pronouncement to SpinningPlatters.com while giving an interview about her movie Celeste and Jesse Forever.

The 36-year-old also brought up her admiration for Frank Ocean, who recently revealed that he is gay.

“There needs to be, like, a professional athlete that comes out,” she said.

“And a movie star! It’s time…Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let’s do this.

Travolta, became embroiled in a 'is he or isn't he?' scandal after several masseurs alleged he sexually assaulted them.

The actress also praised Anderson Cooper's recent admission but added that, “big stars need to come out. Ricky Martin was huge. That was big; I was really happy about that.”

Jones insisted that he should do it now, so it doesn't come out after his death.

“People are so precious about their careers,” she added.
