London, March 21 (ANI): Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend, who is in jail for trying to steal 35million pounds from the Vatican, has been writing her letters from the prison.
Apparently, Raffaello Follieri, who is serving four-and-a-half years, has been requesting the 'Alice in Wonderland' star to wait for him to return.
However, the letters are troubling Hathaway who is now dating actor Adam Shulman.
"Anne fears anything she says to him will lead to a fresh avalanche of mail. The letters are not only torturing Anne, they are putting pressure on her new relationship," the Daily Express quoted Hathaway's pal as saying.
Meanwhile, an FBI spokesman said: "It's deeply unfortunate if the letters cause distress but unless they contain clear criminal intent our hands are tied."
