New Delhi, March 22 (IANS) Your love for karaoke can now make you famous. You can sing via mobile, upload on your profile and get heard by a larger audience with Airtel 'isinger', an online karaoke competition.
The participants have to submit a song via mobile phones on Airtel isinger on ibibo.com contest. Once the song is submitted, community members will vote for their favourite singer.
The contest is in six languages and it will be judged by veteran composers from each language. The judges panels have composers Neel Dutt (Bengali), Raghu Dixit (Kannada), Hanif Shaikh (Hindi), Sanjeev Rana (Bhojpuri), Maulik Mehta (Gujrati) and Jassie Gift (Malayalam).
"Our attempt is to give an opportunity to each one of those who believe they have the ability to sing but are clueless how to go about it. The participant just needs to record a song on their mobile phone and post it on the website," Ashish Kashyap, CEO of ibibo, told IANS.
"There are close to 7,000 singers that are participating in the contest and every language featured has their own list of top performing contestants. It reaches a larger audience approximately 12,000 to 15,000 people watch the page on regular basis and recognize the talent, therefore is more scalable," Kashyap said.
"The participant has an option of singing in any of the six different languages. The voting procedure is very simple as anyone who is a part of the social networking site can vote for his or her contestant" he added.
The contestant who gets maximum votes would get a chance to sing a song with one of the six music directors.
Other than ibibo.com, talenttrove.com is another networking site which is looking for budding singers.
