Dismayed that family members are spread out over the house, each with a separate PC or tablet? Mullaperiyar Report - Stand of Justice K T Thomasan

Monday - May 07, 2012, 02:17pm (GMT+5.5)
[+] Text [-]

This is not the first time that Justice K.T.Thomas is taking controversial stands.  When the bail application of the accused in Sr Abhaya case came up in the Kerala High Court, Mr Thomas wrote an article in the Deepika daily supporting the bail application.  As a retired justice of the Supreme Court and a person from Kottayam he should not have taken a position which can influence the judgement of the High Court.

Tamilnadu is reported to have spent crores of rupees to influence the politicians and officials of Kerala so that they take a helpful stand in the Supreme Court when the Mullaperiyar case came up.  Perhaps the only exception is Mr N.K.Premachandran whose sincere and unrelenting work turned the case in Kerala's favour.  Thjat is why Tamilnadu tried their level best to defeat him in the last election. Once Premachandran lost the election and his minister post,  the Mullaperiyar case was as good as lost for Kerala.
