TUV Rheinland to conduct a 4 day vocational qualification training of the ‘TUV Functional Safety Programme’ at Pune in August, 2012

Mumbai - TÜV Rheinland India, a subsidiary of the TUV Rheinland Group, Germany and a worldwide leader in Testing, Inspection, Certification & Training, today announced a 4 day vocational qualification training of the ‘ TUV Functional Safety Programme’ at Pune in August, 2012. This programme is targeted at Developers, Product Architects, Designers, Project leaders, Quality Managers and Testers involved in the development of safety related systems for use in Cars on the basis of the draft international standard ISO/DIS 26262.

Engineers working in the field of functional safety for years have the opportunity to obtain an official verification and testimonial of their expertise. By passing a final exam successfully they will receive a TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Engineer certificate. This certificate, which is acknowledged worldwide, states that specific knowledge within the field of “Automotive” has been achieved.

Said Mr. Enrico Ruhle, Managing Director of TUV Rheinland India, “The training under this programme would support Engineers to deepen their knowledge and their experience in order to achieve a worldwide acknowledged know-how and practical experience within the area of functional
safety according to the ISO 26262 & IEC 61508 International Standard. The ISO 26262 standard governs functional safety in the automotive industry. It applies specifically to the use and functional safety of electrical/electronic systems in motor vehicles and to suppliers of generic products such as hardware and software components or development tools that are primarily used in the automotive sector”.

The TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program is the only worldwide extended vocational training program in the area of Functional Safety where knowledge and competencies are approved of by a third neutral party and where certificates are issued.

TÜV Rheinland has institutionalized this training program in 2004 together with national and international companies and experts of the Functional Safety business. More than 3,500 engineers worldwide have participated in trainings regarding topics like Safety Instrumented Systems, Hardware/Software Design, Machinery and Automotive and have become TÜV Functional Safety Engineers.

During the last 4 years more than 60 TÜV Functional Safety Experts and 50 members of the Interest Group have supported and enhanced the program with their experience and knowledge and have made it a worldwide success.

All trainers of the program are TÜV Functional Safety Experts and their trainings are offered worldwide. So the TÜV Functional Safety Engineers come from all over the world.
