Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Obama forgets daughter Malia’s age twice

London -  US President Barack Obama referred to his oldest daughter, Malia, as being 13-years-old twice during a news conference, even though she is just 12.

Given the speed with which his daughter is growing, perhaps his mistake is not particularly surprising. Malia’s birthday is also rapidly approaching – she will be 13 on July 4.

Obama spoke about both of his daughters at the conference, while slating congressional Republicans as procrastinators who only get work done at the last minute.

He tried to joke about it by using his daughters as example, but it appears to have backfired.

“You know, Malia and Sasha generally finish their homework a day ahead of time. Malia’s 13, Sasha’s 10,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

The president is prodding Republicans to reach a deal on raising the national debt limit before the government taps out its borrowing ability on the expected date of August 2.
