London -  A 10-year-old autistic boy in Britain's Yorkshire county collapsed and died while playing in the snow and building an igloo, the Daily Express reported Wednesday.

Joshua Houlgate had been ecstatic at the first snowfall of the year. But as he built an igloo Sunday with his friends, he complained of feeling ill and collapsed in seconds.

His mother Sara, 35, gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, helped by a neighbour.

Joshua’s father Jeff joined in the frantic efforts. But the boy died a short time after arriving in the hospital.

The father said his son was very excited about playing in the snow.
