NATO supplies continue via Pakistan air space: US

Islamabad -  US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter Thursday that the supplies to NATO-led forces in Afghanistan are being airlifted through Pakistani air space, Xinhua reported.

Pakistan closed NATO supply route through its territory to protest a cross-border air strike by US helicopters on two Pakistani checkpoints that killed 24 soldiers in November last year.

Pakistani parliament will decide whether or not to reopen the land supply route after review of relationship with the US.

Washington is waiting for completion of the parliamentary process before certain issues would be discussed, said the US envoy.

"What we need is to talk to each other so that incidents like the tragedy of border strikes could be avoided," he said.

Asked whether the US was considering apology for the cross-border attack, the ambassador said his country had insisted that the raid was a tragic incident and it happened unintentionally.

"We must work together to avoid the repeat of November raid in future."
