Beijing -  Beijing will deploy police in schools for students' safety.

They will be deployed in kindergartens, primary and middle schools in crime-hit areas, China Daily reported Wednesday. One police officer will be responsible for one school.

Their main responsibilities will be protecting schools, handling emergencies and conducting safety education for students, among others.

Beijing already has selected some schools for this programme last year.
