Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Islamabad -  The Balochistan government has received a notification that formalised the quashing the cases registered against top Baloch nationalist leaders.

The Nation quoted the Balochistan Home Secretary as saying that the federal government had sent the notification, which directed for disposing of all cases involving Hyrbyair Marri,  Brahamdagh Bugti and Akhtar Mengal.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik had announced three days ago that all cases against the Baloch leaders would be scrapped, before asking them to return to Pakistan for talks for tackling the  fragile situation in the province.

The three popular leaders are the scions of top Baloch chieftains and enjoy support right across the province.
