Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Islamabad -  Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chairman Fazlur Rehman has said that the US Congressional bill for an independent Balochistan was a direct interference in Pakistan’s internal matters.

Adressing at a rally in Bahawalpur, Rehman questioned whether Washington will ever allow Pakistan to interfere in its internal matters.

“When we [Pakistan] will never be allowed to meddle in US affairs, US shouldn’t be allowed to do so either,” The Express Tribune quoted Rehman, as saying.

Criticising US military presence in other countries, he accused it of taking over countries’ resources.

“We have seen their performance in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, they have failed to solve issues across the globe but they still want to meddle in Pakistan’s issues,” Rehman added.
