Colombo -  A large number of Sri Lankans Tuesday marched through the capital's streets shouting anti-US slogans and protesting a Channel 4 video about the death of LTTE chief V. Prabhakaran and his 12-year-old son, a media report said.

The people also demanded that the US withdraw a resolution placed before the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva that calls for a probe into alleged war crimes during the concluding phases of a three decade civil war that ended in 2009, police told Xinhua.

State media reports said the Sri Lankan army was considering making its own documentary about the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief who was killed in May 2009.

According to previews released in Britain, the Channel 4 documentary attempts to prove that Prabhakaran's minor son was murdered.

International humanitarian agencies have put the number of civilian deaths during the final days of the war at 40,000.
