London -  Traffic policemen in China fined a man who wanted to save money on transporting his three trucks by piling one on top of the other, it was reported here.

Sun Lin, who heads a cargo firm, had picked up the flat bed trucks but he didn't want to spend on three sets of road tolls or on hiring two extra drivers to take them home.

So they were loaded one on top of the other and the journey began to take them to his trucking yard in China's Anhui province, The Sun reported.

Traffic policemen were astonished to see the triple-decker and promptly fined him.

"I wasn't going to pay three sets of tolls or for more drivers so I got the seller to use a crane to load them on top of each other," Sun was quoted as saying.

"They were perfectly safe until the police interfered."
