Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Islamabad -  A joint session of parliament to formulate new terms of engagement with the United States and take decision on resumption of NATO supplies will begin on Monday in Pakistan.

The joint session will start with the address of the opposition leader, which is expected to focus on restoration of NATO supplies, drone attacks and ties with the US, the Daily Times reports.

The session is likely to continue for about seven days before voting on proposals regarding the Pak-US ties begins.

The lawmakers would reportedly hold debate on the important issues of reviewing the foreign policy, bilateral relations with the US, restoration of NATO supplies, war on terror, and drone attacks inside Pakistani territory.
