Beijing -  A man who stole a woman's iPhone after their one night stand was given six months' jail and fined 1,000 yuan ($160) for theft, the Shanghai Daily reported Thursday.

Prosecutors said Dong Liang met the victim through Tencent's instant messaging tool Weixin in November. After chatting for some time, the pair decided to meet each other at a subway  station Nov 15.

Dong said they had some beer and went to a hotel after the woman agreed to have sex with him.

The next day, Dong woke up and told the sleeping woman he had to go to work. Before he left, Dong quietly took the woman's iPhone that was beside the pillow, a court heard.

The woman reported the theft to the police. Two hours later, Dong was caught at his home.
