Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Washington - Prince Harry will be honoured with the Atlantic Council Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership in Washington.

The honor recognizes the 27-year-old’s charitable works on behalf of wounded servicemen, officials said Monday.

St. James’ Palace said Harry, who will be travelling to Washington next month, would also receive the award on behalf of his brother, Prince William, in recognition of their charitable foundation.

“Prince Harry will use the award to pay tribute to British and American veterans’ charities for their achievements in helping to rehabilitate wounded servicemen and women and to reintegrate those who

have served in the Armed Forces into civilian life,” CBS News quoted the palace as saying.

Harry, who is third in line for the British throne, has extensive military experience and is training as an Apache military pilot.

Last year, he spent two months in California and Arizona for military training.

He has focused some of his charitable works on the needs of injured servicemen, and has worked with ‘Walking with the Wounded’, ‘Help for Heroes’ and other charities.
