Wardha (Maharashtra) - Eight people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on the Wardha-Nagpur Road Sunday, police said here.
The accident happened near Sevagram, on the Wardha-Nagpur Road, around 10 km from the district headquarters of Wardha.
"Eight people were killed and three others were injured as the Tavera car they were travelling in collided with a container coming from the opposite direction," an official from Sevagram Police Station told IANS.
The victims were on their way to Nagpur to appear for a railway recruitment examination, the official said.
Those killed have been identified as Ulhas Sonone, 37, Arvind Vanjari, 31, Jayashree Muneshwar, 25, Yogita Avsare, 28, Pramod Pole, 38, Prashant Bhagat, 29, Sudhir Wankhede, 29 and Gangadhar Avsare, 40.
