Panaji -  Two Kyrgyz nationals, including a woman, were arrested Friday for running an escort racket and peddling drugs over the Internet, police said.

Valentina Shoal, 29, and Alimullah Shoal, 32, were arrested after police sent a decoy customer and trapped the duo.

"They were using the Internet to run an escort and a prostitution racket. They would have a list of call girls from Uzbekistan and their home country who would come on tourist visas and indulge in prostitution. They would also be in league with the drug dealers and provide drugs on demand," a police spokesperson said.

The Calangute police which effected the raid said that two customers who had been contacted by the duo over the Internet had also been arrested during the raid in the coastal beach village of Candolim.
