Islamabad - Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Islamabad Richard A Hoagland has said that no new agreement has been signed with Pakistan regarding the reopening of the NATO supply routes, and neither was it going to happen in the future.
Hoagland said relations were resumed from the point where they had been left in November last year.
"There is no need to sign a new agreement as we have resumed our relations from the point where we had left in November last year," The Express Tribune quoted him, as saying.
"This route is essential for NATO countries but also crucial for Afghanistan," he added.
According to the paper, Hoagland also said that the reopening of the supply routes would help in rebuilding Pak-US relations.
"We welcome Pakistan's step to reopen the key ground supply line through its border for the NATO forces without demanding any charge. This will further rebuild the Pakistan-US relations," he said.
