Pak minister urges EU to take action to restore peace in Pakistan, Afghanistan

Peshawar - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Transport and Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Iftikhar Hussain has urged the European Union to play its role in restoring lasting peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and eradication of terrorism and militancy from the region.

Hussain said this while interacting with a two-member delegation of European Union in Peshawar. Members of the delegation included Charge de Affairs, Pierre Mayaudon and First Consular Political, Trade and Communication, Alexendre Borges Gomes.

The Nation quoted Hussain, as saying that after the death of Osama Bin Laden, misunderstandings widened among Pakistan, the U.S. and Afghanistan, which need to be removed. He added that in this connection the role of European Union was crucial.
