Islamabad - Former Pakistani bureaucrat Roedad Khan has said that no prime minister can function without the consent of the Army.

"No prime minister can function without GHQ's consent," said Khan, calling the Army 'Pakistan's central source of power'.

The News quoted Khan, as saying that former president Ghulam Ishaq Khan wanted to have former prime minister Benazir Bhutto declared ineligible and in this regard assigned Khan the task of her 'accountability'.

Khan further said that the former Army Chief, Gen Aslam Beg had said that 'no one can separate the army from politics'.
