Obama says Clinton in 'good spirits' post John Kerry's nomination for US Secretary of StateWashington - US President Barack Obama has said Hillary Clinton 'is in good spirits' after he spoke to the US Secretary of State.

She has been working from home this week, recovering from a fall that caused a concussion, Politico reports.

Clinton also missed tesitfying at a Benghazi hearing and Obama's nomination of Sen. John Kerry to succeed her. But she issued a statement endorsing Obama's announcement.

"She is in good spirits and could not be more excited about the announcement that I'm making," Obama said.

According to the report, the president, hailing Clinton's contributions as a member of his "extraordinary" national security team, said she had wanted to be there for the announcement.

He said Clinton's looking forward to getting back to work'.
