Brit businessman hid £140k in aunt’s grave to avoid taxes

London(ANI): In an attempt to fool the Inland Revenue, a tax dodger buried 140,000 pound in his aunt's grave.

The cheat had planned to leave the cash in the grave for 20 years the time limit for tax investigations before digging it up.

But tax inspectors were got fishy and obtained permission from a priest to dig up the grave and recover their 50,000-pound share from the wily businessman.

"Tax evasion isn't a victimless crime," the Sun quoted Britain's top taxman Dave Hartnett as saying.

"We all pay extra to compensate for the money cheats steal from the country.

"Tax evaders line their greedy pockets at the expense of our schools and hospitals, our police and soldiers

"But we're getting better at catching cheats. It's not worth the risk," he said.
