London - Many men may struggle to find a fitting gift for their ladylove, but their choices often fail to impress her.
In a survey, almost a third (32 per cent) of women questioned said they had returned or exchanged distasteful gifts while 15 per cent had made money selling them on eBay.
Hub caps, anti-wrinkle cream and diet books were just some of the presents that failed to impress, according to the survey of 500 adults commissioned by accessories company AnjliLondon.com.
Out of those questioned, 35 per cent said they knew their partner would send them flowers, with 17 per cent saying they’d be on the receiving end of a cuddly toy.
While 20 per cent said they’d get chocolates even if they were trying to lose weight.
“We all appreciate that women can be hard to buy for,” the Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for AnjliLondon.com as saying.
“If you’re stuck on what to buy, the best thing you can do is ask your other half what she’d like. That way you can’t get it wrong and she get a present she’ll love,” the spokesperson added.
When asked what they would like to receive, women’s top choices included jewellery, a weekend away, a pamper day and a bottle of their favourite perfume.
