London - Nearly one in three mothers and fathers of under-18s admitted to ‘sexting’ or sending explicit pictures on their phones, according to a new poll.

Overall, one in five of people admitted to using our phones for ‘sexy texts’.

The biggest age group for ‘sexting’ was 18-to-34 year-old men, at 32 per cent, and 33-to-44-year-old women, at 25 per cent.

However, one-in-ten over-55s have also used their phones to send saucy messages and pictures.

The Harris Interactive poll of 2,097 adults in the U.S. also found 11 per cent of Americans had recorded explicit videos on their phones, including 18 per cent of fathers.

And about one in ten men and women had saved romantic partner contact details under a codename on their phone.

The survey was sponsored by Lookout Mobile Security, which warned mobile owners to take more care with their phones.

“Only three per cent of American adults who are smartphone owners say their biggest concern about losing their phone is that their inappropriate pictures or text messages could be exposed,” the Daily Mail quoted a spokesman as saying.
